Cancer 2035: A Roadmap for the Future, co-hosted by the Milken Institute and the Richard Nixon Foundation, brought together the most prominent leaders to discuss innovative approaches to cancer cures. Kathy joined Lara Abrash, Deloitte Chair US, to discuss survivorship, breakthrough science, and how collaborative innovation is accelerating progress in real world impact.

AHIP brings together the nation’s most influential leaders in health insurance and policy to address the future of healthcare delivery. Kathy joined the main stage to share insights on the path to accelerate cures in myeloma and her experience building innovative, scalable models in cancer. Drawing from her perspective as a patient, founder, and business leader, she emphasized the critical role of collaboration, navigation, and patient-centered innovation in driving progress across the healthcare system.

As part of Cancer Survivorship Month and Marriott’s award-winning “Take Care” initiative—focused on the wellbeing of associates—Kathy spoke to leaders and teams about building purpose-driven organizations. She shared insights from her work in patient advocacy and cancer innovation, highlighting how resilience, compassion, and people-first leadership can drive lasting impact.

Kathy was interviewed by Emma as part of Emma’s CEO series called “Ahead Together”. The interview was featured on LinkedIn and other social media channels; it was also shared globally with GSK employees. Together, Kathy and Emma provide insights into the challenges of facing cancer, the need for collaboration and new therapies, and the hope that new science brings.

Kathy was honored to be interviewed by Clifton at 2025 Lake Nona conference. This world- renowned conference brings together the best minds in health and human performance. Kathy’s interview focused on the need for collaboration and leadership across cancers. Specifically, the interview focused on Kathy’s leadership roles at both the MMRF and the HBS Kraft Initiative. Kathy was honored to accept the organization’s Adversity to Impact Award.

Johnson and Johnson has developed an extraordinary pipeline of cancer therapies. Kathy was thrilled to join the company’s nearly -1000-member oncology team to learn more about their 2025 goals and to share her perspective as a patient, caregiver, business leader and healthcare disruptor.  Speaking with the Head of the Multiple Myeloma program, it was her goal to inspire this dedicated group to continue working urgently until a cure is found.

The PJT conference brings together an extraordinary group of female leaders who have approached business and life in innovative ways. Kathy shared her perspective on the leadership skills and resilience needed to evolve in the fast- changing space of oncology. Most importantly, Kathy was able to provide insights into how adversity can force women to think through their needs and wants and build the best lives for themselves and their families.

Kathy and Matt discussed the future of healthcare, the advancements in oncology and the best ways for patients (and foundations) to advocate for their own care. Their conversation reminded the audience of what it means to be patient centered and the importance of the patient voice throughout the ecosystem.

For their anniversary event, Karen Tumulty, Associate Editor of the Washington Post, interviewed Kathy on her book “Fatal to Fearless” with an intense focus on her leadership at the MMRF, Harvard Business School, and as a fellow survivor.
